Fish Clones Taxidermy
Dear anglers,
I know you have many choices on how to spend your hard earned money! Especially in the world of fish mounts, there are many choices to be had.
Choosing an artist to handle your trophy is an important part of the process. Taking your time and money invested in harvesting your trophy into consideration, This decision should be an educated one, not one of merely low price or convenience.
I have been practicing the art of fish taxidermy for some 31 years. During that time, I have spent untold thousands of hours researching both my specimens as well as my methods. I feel that through the years my quest for realism has been met with much success.
I have worked hard to deliver to my clients the most realistic fish mounts possible. By combining newer more advanced materials with a desire to improve my work constantly, I am seeing the results in my finished pieces.
I use your fish whenever possible to make a custom mold from, as well as having a library of molds for the sportsman who chooses to return their trophy to the water. I also network with several well known fish artists such as Mike Kirkhart to have available, rare or uncommon fish to accomodate my clients needs.
My fish mounts have unparraled detail such as the mouth interior molded ( not plugged with fiberglass, like some of the cheap, imported fish available).
My mounts also display thin, natural and semi-transparent fins with the edges detailed, not smooth and perfect, but natural. Also fish are posed in eye pleasing natural poses, not curved way up or down, because fish can't and won't bend the way you see most commercial production mounts. I use hand painted eyes, set in a realistic pose.
I also use a combination of airbrush, hand painting and brush techniques to bring out the features of each individual species. I use the finest quality pigments, powders and dyes, to create depth and realism.
While some taxidermists use cheap imported featureless replicas, Fish clones mounts are done one at a time using manmade materials, right here in the United States of America.
So,if Quality and realism at a 3-4 month turnaround and a fair price are important to you, then give me a call and i'll take the time to answer all of your questions and get your trophy done right.
Sincerely, Capt. Bryan Russell
